Magickal spells, rituals, potions, and practices for the beginner Witch.

The Many Uses of Moon Water:

As witches, we are inextricably tied to the moon. We choose certain phases to boost our magick rituals or spells. Even the Hollywood version of witches has us dancing naked under a full moon, something I do not recommend unless you have a very high fence and no nosy neighbors. Doing a spell under the full moon sounds fantastic, but sometimes magick must be done while the sun is out. Moon water enables Witches to harness the energy of a specific moon phase to use later on.
So, how do you create moon water? Fill a clear jar or container with water and place it under the moon’s light. The water must be put out after the sun goes down and brought in before the sun rises. You can set the jar outside if you have a private outdoor space, such as a yard or balcony. However, your jar can also be placed on a window sill. It is important to note that any water can be made into moon water, but please use filtered or bottled if you plan on ingesting it in any fashion.

There are a multitude of magickal and mundane ways to use moon water:

  • Add to potions and elixirs
  • Place on your alter to represent the element of water, or to amplify your spells
  • Add to your bathwater during a ritual bath
  • Wash your hands with the water before beginning a spell or ritual
  • Full moon water can be used to cleanse your doorways and add protection to your home
  • Use to create a magickal floor wash
  • Make your coffee or tea with moon water to amplify your intentions
  • Water your plants with it
  • Use in your simmer pots
  • Cook using the moon water

Important note: the container you make moon water in does not need to be fancy. I use a massive sun tea jar to make my moon water, as I use it to water my plants.

Enjoy the full moon Witches!!!
